$600

Official conditions (new tab)Grants from your town
Checked on October 17, 2026.
Where would the charger go?
How far from the electrical panel?
It affects the length of cable and the work involved.
Your electrical service amperage?
It is printed on the main breaker, at the top of the panel.
Your main heating?
Is there free space in the panel?
A level 2 charger needs a 240 V circuit, so room for a double breaker.
Your charger?
For Québec’s $600: a connected charger from the eligible list.
This tool prepares your request. It does not replace the electrician’s assessment.
Compare the chargers eligible for the $600
FLO, Grizzl-E, Tesla, Wallbox and EVduty chargers, as listed on Québec’s official list. They are all eligible for the Écorecharge grant, and we also install the other chargers on the list.

Charging current = power ÷ 240 V. The breaker and wires are sized according to the Code, from this current and what your electrical service can supply: we do it during the estimate. Is your service big enough? The load calculation tells you.

How much does charging at home cost?
Pick your electric car: we calculate the cost of charging at Hydro-Québec’s rate, what you save compared with gasoline, and how fast your charger pays for itself.
Adjust it: the consumption is on your car’s spec sheet or in the Fuel Consumption Guide.
1.922 $/L: average price in the Eastern Townships, week of October 12, 2026 (Régie de l’énergie). Change it if needed.
Optional: the amount of your quote, for the return on investment.
Pick your car: the result appears here.
The price depends on the rest of your consumption: the home’s first 40 kWh per day cost 7.065¢, the rest 11.142¢ (Hydro-Québec Rate D, April 1, 2026).
Calculated at Hydro-Québec’s rate. Hydro-Sherbrooke, Hydro-Magog and Hydro-Coaticook have their own rates: your bill shows your prices.

What size generator do you need?
Start from a profile or check what you want to keep running during an outage. We add up your appliances’ running watts and the start-up of the largest motor, using the average values from Honda Canada’s guide.
Your appliances
Check your appliances: the result appears here.
A motor’s start-up only lasts a moment: we count only the largest one, starting motors one at a time. Average values. Your appliances’ actual values are on their nameplate (watts = volts × amps). We confirm the calculation with you before you buy.
