Electrician in Magog

LTE Électrique works in Magog for houses, chalets around Lake Memphremagog, businesses and buildings: panels and 200 A upgrades, EV chargers, heat pumps, hot tubs, generators, renovations, new construction. What is particular to Magog is that the city runs its own power network, Hydro-Magog. If your address is on that network, the steps for a new service entrance, a connection or an outage go through the city; otherwise, your utility is Hydro-Québec. We know both processes.

A service entrance on the Hydro-Magog network

When the service changes (200 A upgrade, new mast or meter base, new construction), the shutoff and reconnection are done with Hydro-Magog under its conditions of service, set by municipal by-law. We prepare the request with you, plan the work day with the city, and tell you in advance how long the house will be without power.

Chalets and waterfront homes

Around the lake, many houses have added a hot tub, a heat pump or an EV charger over the years, on a panel that never changed. Before adding anything, we do a load calculation: it tells whether the panel is enough, or whether you need load management or a 200 A upgrade. For a house closed part of the year, we plan the visit and the work with you, and a generator with a transfer switch protects the house during long outages.

EV charger and panel in Magog

An EV charger

Québec pays $600 for an eligible connected charger. We install the charger and its circuit, and give you the invoice that serves as proof. Before buying, the load calculation tells whether the service is enough.

A panel or a 200 A upgrade

In Magog, the disconnection and reconnection are coordinated with the utility: Hydro-Magog, or Hydro-Québec outside its territory. We handle it for you. The load calculation first tells whether the service is enough.

Frequently asked questions

Is my utility Hydro-Magog or Hydro-Québec?
Check your bill, or the territory map published by the city. In Magog itself it’s usually Hydro-Magog; outside the municipal network’s territory, Hydro-Québec.
What does it change for a service entrance?
The request, shutoff and reconnection are done with Hydro-Magog under its conditions of service. We handle the steps with you and plan the work day accordingly.
Do you work on chalets around the lake?
Yes. Panel, service entrance, EV charger, hot tub, generator for long outages: we plan the work with you, especially if the chalet is closed part of the year.
Am I eligible for LogisVert as a Hydro-Magog customer?
Yes, according to the program guide: homes supplied by a municipal network are eligible. Each measure’s conditions apply, and you apply online yourself.
